Collio ride

Getting to know an area means wandering around, exploring it: by car, by bicicle, on foot or, why not, riding (https://www.yumping.it/) the Collio area is perfect for a life out of the traffic, surrounded by greenery and singing birds. Deciding to buy a house in this area means gain a passport to peace and quiet, to the tasting of special wines, to the joy of walking and cycling on little-used roads. And the proximity to small towns like Gorizia or Cividale del Friuli, peculiar villages like Cormons, Dolegna del Collio, Corno di Rosazzo allows a little social life. The beuaty of trespassing into Slovenia by crossing the Collio area, an unicum of hills, crossing roads, expertly tended vineyards and delightful stone villages. The uniqueness of this area is evident, despite a century ago the two terrible great wars destroyed land and lives , now this land is the unique expression of boundless love for the land: where once there were political and linguistic disputes, now there is a continuum of wineyards and the result of each row is exellence! The only opposition now is healthy wine competition, which allows everyone to aspire to the top, as friends who gain a goal together!

Vegetables gardens full of cultivated flowers, quality vinerie, where you can stop for a taste or a purchase, it will be worth it! The famous Ribolla Gialla, the Friulano or an Orange Wine, grapes macerated on the vines before being harvested and pressed, for a full-bodied wine sunset-coloured, to be drunk chile and perfect for cheese or fish.

Many linerie in the area, both Italian and Slovenian sides (Goriska Brda): from here comes some of the best white wines in the world. The reds also, Refosco, Merlot, Cabernet are exellent.
